The conditions for an application are the same as last year. It is estimated that about 100,000 households can receive support.
Many people have already contacted the TNE foundation expressing interest in the fund. Therefore, households that qualify are advised to ensure they have a DigiD in time and not to wait too long to apply.
Assistance with Application
This year, funds have again been allocated to help households that have difficulty applying on their own. Through the Dutch Debt Assistance Route, they can be referred to local helpers. Volunteer drop-in centers have also been set up, and there is support available at home.
State Secretary Jurgen Nobel: “I am glad that the cabinet can provide the most vulnerable households with a little support through the emergency fund. At the same time, we know that we cannot help everyone with financial worries and high energy bills. Therefore, this cabinet will continue to look at how we can reduce energy bills in the long term.”
Who can apply?
- The household has an income of a maximum of 200% of the social minimum. This means that the gross income per month is lower than €3,400 - (single) or €4,740 - (cohabiting). Including 8% holiday pay.
- The energy costs of the household are higher than 8 to 10 percent of the gross income per month.
- This year, households with block connections can also apply.
