Compensation for employees working at social development companies; budget per municipality announced

Simplicity is key in the implementation of the amendment. This means that all employees working at a social development company and covered by the collective labor agreement for Social Employment or the collective labor agreement Aan de Slag will receive compensation. The compensation amount is the same for every employee. It does not depend on salary, working hours, or the date of employment.

For 2025, the compensation amounts to €504 gross per person. This is €42 per month. Social development companies will pay this to their employees.
 

The €40 million will be distributed to municipalities in the December 2025 circular. To avoid each municipality having to make separate arrangements with its social development company, the budget is allocated to the largest municipality around a social development company. For the distribution, a survey was conducted among social development companies and some municipalities. This survey concerned the number of employees employed on September 1, 2025.
