It is important that Dutch sports are fair and socially safe - and thus integral. Sports are fair when they are free from doping and match-fixing, and socially safe when there is no socially unsafe behavior. In recent years, several cases of integrity violations have come to light, particularly in the area of socially unsafe behavior. This occurred in gymnastics, gymnastics, dance, athletics, wheelchair basketball, and swimming.

State Secretary Tielen of Health, Welfare and Sport: “The sports environment is ideally a place where everyone should feel comfortable. It cannot be the case that athletes go to the club with a knot in their stomach or that parents worry about their childs safety. Unfortunately, it still goes wrong too often. The sports world remains vulnerable. Therefore, measures must be taken to make sports safe again. The integrity center is an important step in this regard.”

Integrity Sports Netherlands (ISN)

In ISN, the current Doping Authority and the Safe Sports Center of NOC*NSF will be merged into one independent organization. ISN will investigate reports related to doping, match-fixing, and socially unsafe behavior and advise the sports sector on how to follow up on these reports. Until ISN is established, these organizations will remain the point of contact for these reports.
