The Senate voted on Tuesday, April 15, on the budget for 2025 of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). The budget has been adopted. The factions of OPNL, GroenLinks-PvdA, SGP, D66, Volt, CDA, PVV, PvdD, VVD, JA21, ChristenUnie, BBB, and 50PLUS voted in favor of the budget, while the factions of FVD and SP voted against it.
A week earlier, the Senate debated with Minister Uitermark of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) about the income and expenditures of her ministry in 2025. The senators questions focused on the creation of legislation, the national program against discrimination and racism, and the right to demonstrate. A motion from the Volt faction regarding research into the societal costs of discrimination and racism in the Netherlands was rejected.
