On October 7, 2025, the Committee for Economic Affairs/Climate and Green Growth is organizing an expert meeting on collective heat. This is in response to the Collective Heat Act (36.576) which is currently under consideration in the committee. Speakers from TNO, VNG, Energie Beheer Nederland, Eneco, EnergieSamen, the National Climate Platform, the Heat Alliance, HVC, and Aedes have been invited. The evening is divided into two blocks, during which the experts will provide a brief explanation and senators can ask questions.

The Collective Heat Act modifies the current Heat Act (29.048), aiming to promote and ensure the transition to collective heat (such as district heating). The Collective Heat Act aims to ensure sustainable and reliable heat supply and better protect consumers against high energy costs. The House of Representatives adopted the proposal on July 3, 2025. On September 9, there was also a technical briefing on this topic.

The meeting will take place on October 7 from 18:00 to 20:00 and can be attended or followed via the livestream and watched later.
