Indische Plaquette

The Indische Plaquette is placed in the Statenpassage. The bronze plaque was unveiled in 1985 during the commemoration on August 15 and was later transferred to the chairman of the House of Representatives that year. The plaque commemorates all victims of World War II in the former Dutch East Indies.

The commemoration started with speeches from Thom de Graaf, chairman of the Foundation Commemoration August 15, 1945, and Chairman of the House of Representatives Martin Bosma. After that, Mr. Silfraire Delhaye spoke as a representative of the Indo-Moluccan and Chinese community. Following the laying of the wreaths, a minute of silence concluded the commemoration.

The Chairmen of the Senate and the House of Representatives will lay a wreath at the Indisch Monument and reflect on the official end of World War II in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and commemorate the victims of the war and occupation of the Dutch East Indies.
