On July 8, the Senate voted on four of the six motions that were submitted a week earlier during the discussion of the Spring Memorandum 2025. Two motions were adopted, two rejected, and two postponed.
Adopted Motions
- -Motion-Van Apeldoorn (SP) et al. on measures in the upcoming Budget Memorandum to reduce child poverty (36.725, G). This motion was adopted after a vote by sitting and standing. PVV, FVD, VVD, JA21, and BBB voted against.
- -Motion-Holterhues (ChristenUnie) et al. on restoring the usual system of linking the ODA budget and gross national income (36.725, F). This motion was adopted after a vote by sitting and standing. PVV, FVD, VVD, JA21, BBB, and 50PLUS voted against.
Rejected Motions
- -Motion-Visseren-Hamakers (PvdD) et al. on alternative funding for pandemic preparedness (36.725, H). This motion was rejected after a vote by sitting and standing. SGP, CDA, PVV, FVD, VVD, JA21, BBB, and Fractie-Kemperman voted against.
- -Motion-Hartog (Volt) et al. on alternative funding for maintaining the current VAT rates (36.725, C). This motion was rejected after a vote by sitting and standing. GroenLinks-PvdA, SGP, D66, CDA, PVV, FVD, VVD, JA21, ChristenUnie, BBB, and Fractie-Kemperman voted against.
