The Justice and Security Committee is organizing a second expert meeting on Tuesday, April 15, in preparation for the debate on the State of the Rule of Law. This debate will take place on June 3, 2025. A first preparatory expert meeting was already held on March 11. At that time, discussions were held about the sentiment in society regarding the rule of law and what signals are being picked up in this context.
The committee wants to be informed in this meeting by parties involved in investigation, enforcement, judiciary, legal aid, and execution. The committee has decided not to limit itself substantively and that all topics related to the rule of law can be discussed.
