The European Commission invites organizations across the EU to host the next generation of Europe Direct centres. These centres act as the EUs local voice, answering citizens questions about EU-related matters and explaining the EUs impact on daily life. They also organize local events, share information with local organizations, and gather feedback to ensure EU policies meet peoples needs. Europe Direct centres are active in every Member State to ensure everyones voice is heard.
The Commission is looking for new partners for the Europe Direct centres mission: enthusiastic organizations with experience in outreach and communication. This includes public institutions, non-profits, civil society organizations, associations, social partners, academic institutions, and others.
A new call for proposals is open on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal for the period 2026–2030.
Full details, including eligibility criteria and funding conditions, are available here. The Commission Representation pages also offer additional information on the call in each Member State.
Background
Around 400 Europe Direct centres are spread across the EU. In 2023, they responded to 168,324 questions, mainly about individual rights and opportunities like freedom of movement, consumer rights, passengers rights, residence rights, job opportunities, social protection in other EU countries, and EU grants.
Europe Direct centres are well-connected with local communities, understand the interests and sensitivities in their area, are experienced in communication, and engage citizens in dialogue about the EU and its benefits at the local level.
