The Commission adopts its June infringement procedures
The Commission maintains a dialogue with Member States to ensure compliance with EU law. If there is non-compliance, the Commission can initiate infringement procedures. Todays decisions include 32 letters of formal notice and 24 reasoned opinions. The Commission also referred 12 cases to the Court of Justice of the European Union and closed 44 cases where Member States have resolved infringements in cooperation with the Commission.

Commission accepts commitments offered by AliExpress under the Digital Services Act and takes further action on illegal products
Today, the Commission has taken significant steps in its investigation concerning AliExpresss compliance with the Digital Services Act (DSA). The DSA and todays actions aim to ensure user and consumer safety online.
First, the Commission accepted and made binding a series of commitments offered by AliExpress to address concerns regarding transparency on advertising and recommendation systems.
Second, the Commission found AliExpress in potential breach of its obligations under the DSA regarding illegal products.

Commission seeks views on new Action Plan to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights
Today, the European Commission has launched the process to seek views on the Action Plan to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights. The Pillar sets out 20 key principles that guide the EU towards a strong social Europe.
The Commission is asking for views on the impact of the 2021 Action Plan and seeks input for a new Action Plan to be launched in the coming months.

Commission approves a new geographical indication from Slovakia
The European Commission has approved the addition of a new product to the register of quality schemes for agricultural products: ‘Spišský šípkový lekvár from Slovakia as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO).
‘Spišský šípkový lekvár is a jam made from freshly picked rosehips, characterized by its uniform consistency. The rosehip shells increase the nutritional value of the product.
This new designation joins the 3,665 protected names already listed in eAmbrosia.

Commission issues €5 billion in its 6th syndicated transaction of 2025
The European Commission issued €5 billion in its 6th syndicated transaction of 2025. The proceeds from this transaction will finance EU policy programs, notably in the context of NextGenerationEU and support for Ukraine.
