Commission Gathers Higher Education Leaders

The European Commission will host over 400 higher education leaders in Brussels to discuss the European Universities initiative, marking five years since its inception. This event will evaluate achievements, address challenges, and explore ways to enhance transnational cooperation in higher education, aiming to boost Europes sustainable prosperity and competitiveness.

University alliances have fostered joint study programs and mobility, offering students international learning pathways. The initiative enhances European higher educations global presence and competitiveness.

This meeting is timely as the Commission plans to present the Union of Skills package, crucial for addressing skills shortages and advancing digital and green transitions.

Commission Approves Joint Ventures

The Commission has cleared joint ventures by RCL Cruises and CTIL, as well as PSS and Maccaferri, under the EU Merger Regulation. These transactions, focused on cruise terminals and rope wire products, were approved without competition concerns due to their limited impact in the European Economic Area. Youth Dialogues with Commissioner Lahbib
