EU Boosts Innovation with New Partnerships in Advanced Materials, Textiles, and Photovoltaics
The Commission has initiated European Partnerships in advanced materials, textiles, and photovoltaics, aimed at enhancing technological leadership and sustainability. These are established under Horizon Europe to foster growth and resilience. The Photovoltaics Partnership will expand solar energy production in line with the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU Plan, with up to €240 million investment from 2025 to 2030. The Textiles Partnership supports sustainable and circular industry practices, with €30 million investment. The Advanced Materials Partnership focuses on developing safe materials for a circular economy with €250 million investment. More information is available in the press release. The European Commission has cleared the creation of a joint venture by Alat and TKE, and the acquisition of Heller by H.I.G. Capital, under the EU Merger Regulation.
