Executive Vice-President Raffaele Fitto
Today we present a proposal that marks a clear step forward. It is rooted in President von der Leyens political guidelines and reflects our vision for a more competitive Europe.
The core idea is to boost prosperity by enhancing the EUs competitiveness through less complexity.
This proposal combines measures to simplify the Common Agricultural Policy and ensure stability for farmers.
We aim to empower farmers as entrepreneurs and innovators by freeing them from unnecessary bureaucracy.
After months of dialogue with stakeholders, we know what works and what needs to change.
We are acting swiftly within the existing CAP framework to deliver tangible results.
We give member states more flexibility and make it easier to use CAP instruments effectively.
By reducing bureaucracy, we create room for farmers to thrive and contribute to Europes strategic autonomy.
Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis
Good afternoon everyone. The package of measures we present today is an important milestone in our simplification agenda.
Europe must urgently take action to secure our long-term prosperity.
Simplification is essential for building a competitive Europe.
Today we present our measures for the agricultural sector.
The Commission has extensively consulted with farmers representatives and other stakeholders.
We expand the simplified payment scheme to reduce administrative burdens for direct payments.
Together, we expect the measures to bring savings for farmers and national administrations.
Thank you.
Commissioner Christophe Hansen
Good afternoon,
I thank Executive Vice-President Fitto and Commissioner Dombrovskis for their presentations.
The CAP must become more attractive for current and future generations of farmers.
We make it easier for small farmers to apply for aid with a simplified payment scheme.
The CAP needs to become more modern. Digital tools can help reduce reporting burdens.
We want to introduce a digital agricultural profile that collects information once.
Thank you.
