Dear Members of Parliament, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Thank you for welcoming me to the Parliament of the Italian Republic. It is a great honor for me to address you as the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships.
Italy is a strong part of our Team Europe. We collaborate on significant projects supporting our Global Gateway strategy, such as the synergies with the Mattei Plan in Africa.
Today, I want to demonstrate how we make our partnership projects successful and how we can improve them for mutual benefit.
A recent trip to Central Asia revealed a global demand for more Europe. This is true for other regions since I became Commissioner.
As global assertiveness rises, our fair approach to international cooperation becomes more attractive to partners.
We have an opportunity to enhance our influence and seize new opportunities. We must not miss this chance.
The first step is to end self-criticism of Europe. Europe is a lifestyle superpower with high living standards. We are global leaders in human-centric development.
The second step is to improve our collaboration. Europe provides 40% of global development aid, and we must use it strategically.
The third step involves leveraging European business expertise and quality. European companies need the EUs political influence to expand internationally.
The fourth step is unity. Only a united Europe is strong. Our unity is essential for global strength.
We must employ our Global Gateway strategy and Team Europe approach to influence global developments and create new opportunities.
Our projects, like the Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor, showcase our ability to create sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Team Europe is crucial for global competitiveness. National teams must collaborate for European and transformative offers.
The collaboration with the Mattei Plan in Africa is an example of successful synergies.
In conclusion, the world wants more Europe. Let us seize this opportunity and focus on sustainable, human development.
Thank you.
