Its great to be back at the EPC. The European Political Community was established in response to Russias war of aggression to ensure European stability.

Three years have passed. Recently, we witnessed President Putins true intentions. Initially, he called for a ceasefire during the 9 May celebrations, which he did not honor.

Later, Ukraine, supported by the European Union and the United States, called for a complete and unconditional 30-day ceasefire, which President Putin rejected.

Finally, he proposed a meeting between Ukraine and Russia in Türkiye. President Zelenskyy was ready to meet, but President Putin didnt appear. This indicates that President Putin does not desire peace.

We must increase the pressure. Therefore, we are developing a new sanctions package. This will include sanctions on Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, listing more vessels from the Russian shadow fleet, lowering the oil price cap, and additional sanctions on Russias financial sector. Achieving peace is crucial for us.

Thus, we must intensify the pressure on President Putin until he is ready for peace.
