Thank you António for your words.
Dear Keir, this is a historic moment as it marks the first-ever EU-UK summit and is a success thanks to your leadership. We are opening a new chapter in our relationship as natural partners on the global stage.
We have concluded our security and defense partnership. This will strengthen our cooperation in defense areas. Its a first step towards UK participation in Europes defense investment program SAFE. We have EUR 150 billion for joint procurement. This will enhance our interoperability and readiness.
Additionally, we are creating new opportunities for our defense industries and supporting Ukraines fight for peace. We are committed to a full and unconditional ceasefire.
Our partnership is about people. Millions of families and friendships exist on both sides of the Channel. We have agreed on Erasmus+ for young people, allowing them to live and study in each others countries.
In terms of energy, we have decided to explore UK participation in the EUs electricity market. This will lower energy prices and increase investments. We are working on linking our emissions trading systems for an integrated decarbonization system.
We have facilitated trade in agricultural products and are working towards a common sanitary and phytosanitary area. This provides stability for farmers and food producers and benefits Northern Ireland.
Regarding justice and migration, we are enhancing our cooperation to keep our citizens safe. We are working together to tackle smuggling and human trafficking and to protect our borders.
Dear Keir, what we have achieved today is historic. It will make a difference to people in the UK and our Union. It is a message of unity and collaboration in times of global instability.
