The European Union applauds the establishment of Syrias new transitional government. We are prepared to collaborate with this government to address significant challenges. The aspirations of all Syrians must be met, as emphasized at the IX Brussels Syria Conference. The EU will support the Syrian people and ensure the new governments commitments to a peaceful, inclusive transition are upheld.

The EU supports a Syrian-led, inclusive transition process that represents all Syrian societys diversity, ensuring accountability through transitional justice for all crimes, contributing to national reconciliation. The National Dialogue Conference, held on 25 February, is pivotal in this process.

External actors must respect Syrias unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The EU condemns any actions undermining Syrias stability and prospects for a peaceful political transition.
