Visit the exhibitions or take part in the scavenger hunt for children aged 8 to 12. During the election recess (Friday, October 3 to Wednesday, October 29, 2025), no meetings will take place. The building is open on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The House of Representatives elections are on Wednesday, October 29.Exhibitions, scavenger hunt, and seat selfieVisitors can admire the permanent exhibition about the House of Representatives set up in the Statenpassage. Here, the facets of Dutch democracy can be seen. The exhibition Gifts to the House: Medals can also be viewed. Children aged 8 to 12 can participate in an informative scavenger hunt. Additionally, visitors are welcome to take a seat selfie at the entrance of the plenary hall on the second floor.What does the House do during the recess?During the recess, there are no debates in the House unless members are recalled. Other parliamentary work continues during the recess. Members still submit written questions to the government. The government also sends documents to the House. Members use the election recess to campaign and draw attention to their party. They do this, for example, by holding debates, distributing flyers, going on work visits, or making media appearances.
