Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to flee to the European Union, including the Netherlands. The Committee on Asylum and Migration will speak on Thursday, March 20, 2025, with Minister Marjolein Faber (Asylum and Migration) about the reception of these people. Displaced persons from Ukraine will stay in the Netherlands for a longer period. Municipalities, NGOs, many volunteers, and involved departments and government organizations work every day to make this reception possible. We will continue to do this together in the coming period, the minister wrote in the introduction of a so-called compilation letter from the end of January to the House of Representatives.
Different aspects
In this compilation letter, the minister informs the House about various aspects of the long-term policy for displaced persons from Ukraine regarding return and stay. Last year, the minister also wrote several compilation and other letters to the House on this subject.
