The Committee for Asylum and Migration will debate on April 17 about regular residence: residence permits for work or study, for example. The debate can be followed live from 3:00 PM via the livestream on this website and the Debat Direct app.
For this debate, Marjolein Faber, Minister of Asylum and Migration, will come to the Chamber.
Knowledge Migrants
On the agenda of the committee debate are two letters from Minister Faber. One of them concerns the conclusions of a study on the settlement choices of knowledge migrants. It becomes clear why knowledge migrants choose to come to the Netherlands and stay here.
Au Pairs
The other letter concerns the au pair scheme. This scheme is about the admission and residence of au pairs from third countries. These are all countries outside the European Union, with the exception of the so-called European Economic Area (EEA) countries. The committee members will debate the feasibility and enforceability of additional conditions for the au pair scheme.
