The House of Representatives will debate the Youth Care Availability Improvement Act on March 13. To implement this law, changes are needed in the Youth Act and the Healthcare Market Regulation Act. The debate can be followed live from 11:15 AM via the livestream and the Debat Direct app with live subtitles.
State Secretaries Vincent Karremans (Youth, Prevention, and Sport) and Teun Struycken (Legal Protection) will attend the debate.
Specialist Youth Care
Research shows that specialist youth care is often insufficiently available or not available on time. The legislative proposal includes measures to improve availability. Municipalities are required to cooperate regionally in the procurement of specialist youth care. The Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) will receive research and supervisory tasks in the field of the Youth Act to better visualize the availability of youth care and to quickly identify risks.
