The House of Representatives will return from summer recess on Thursday, August 21. During a work arrangement, MP Sarah Dobbe (SP) will request a two-minute debate plus votes on the situation in Gaza. A two-minute debate can conclude the committee debate on the same subject from August 7. You can follow the meeting from 4:00 PM via the livestream and Debat Direct.
The work arrangement, in which the House determines its agenda, is held at the request of 38 MPs. During this arrangement, the House can decide to hold the two-minute debate. It can also decide on votes after the two-minute debate on any motions submitted.
What is a two-minute debate?
A two-minute debate is a short debate where each political party gets two minutes of speaking time. Such a short debate is used to conclude a subject in plenary. MPs can submit motions, which is not possible during a committee debate.
