The Committee on Intelligence and Security Services (CIVD) of the House of Representatives of the States General has taken note of media reports from Nieuwsuur and de Volkskrant on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
According to reports, a source around the committee was quoted. Meetings of the CIVD are confidential. Under article 15.13 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, a confidentiality obligation applies to confidential committee meetings. For this reason, the chairman of the CIVD, on behalf of the entire committee, files a report of breach of official secrecy (article 272 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code) and possible breach of state secrecy (article 98 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code).
