Building on Trust.

Our Choices for a Decent Country.

The Netherlands is at a standstill. But we have everything we need to move forward. We have an engaged society, full of good-willed people who dedicate themselves to others. We have a strong economy, with companies that are not only focused on making a profit but also contribute to society. What is missing is a politics that takes responsibility.

The CDA chooses responsibility, decency, and trust as the way forward. A politics that starts with values, is focused on the long term, and has an eye for the common good. Our election program centers on three choices to get the Netherlands moving again:

  1. Getting Things in Order
First, we want a politics that gets things in order. We want a politics that pays attention to what really matters: an affordable home in a safe neighborhood, good care for those in need, investing in defense, and workable laws to manage migration.
  2. Investing in the Economy of Tomorrow
Progress also requires us to invest in a future-oriented economy. Entrepreneurship should be enjoyable again and rewarded by politics. We want to create space for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Therefore, we invest in research, stimulate innovation, and strengthen our regions.
  3. Choosing an Engaged Society
Finally, the CDA chooses an engaged society. We have a strong agenda to give our values and norms new weight. We want more attention and fewer rules for the soft powers: associations, volunteers, and informal caregivers. With a mandatory service and robust integration, we ensure that everyone participates. We strengthen our democracy and cherish traditions.

Lead candidate Henri Bontenbal: “With these choices, we are building a decent country. We are honest about what must be done and hopeful about what can be achieved. A decent country is our promise for a better Netherlands. A country built on trust. With fewer rules and more space. With more togetherness and more respect.”

A country built on trust. With fewer rules and more space. With more togetherness and more respect.

Party chairman Jean Wiertz: “Thanks to the program committee led by Karien van Gennip for this recognizable and future-oriented CDA program. The CDA is a party that wants to build on trust, dares to make honest choices, even when they are difficult, and stands in the middle of society. And I think this is recognizable for everyone reading our program.”
