We need to gain more control over migration. But that can only happen if we improve some flaws in these laws.
Henri Bontenbal
We want to help those in need who appeal to our hospitality and be in solidarity with them. At the same time, we want to do justice to the society that has to accommodate these migrants. Because the pressure of migration on society is great.
During the debate on the two asylum laws of the caretaker cabinet, the CDAs aim is to improve the asylum system: to make it fairer, more humane, more effective, and faster. Henri: The CDA wants us as a House to push these laws over the line. After all, we need to gain more control over migration. But that can only happen if we improve some flaws in these laws. It is our solemn duty to create good, robust laws; laws that are executable for the IND, the COA, and the judiciary; laws that actually lead to a positive result. With that intention, I am conducting the debate today.”
