Today, GroenLinks-PvdA presents the draft candidate list for the House of Representatives elections on October 29. We combine continuity and renewal, with experienced members of parliament and new faces on the list. Together, they represent the social majority in this country.

The numbers one to five remain unchanged: behind list leader Frans Timmermans are Esmah Lahlah, Jesse Klaver, Kati Piri, and Lisa Westerveld. Next is Marjolein Moorman, currently an alderman in Amsterdam, where she fights for equal opportunities in education. Also new in tenth place is Sjoukje van Oosterhout, known as a team leader of lawsuits at Milieudefensie from the successful climate case against Shell.

The list reflects the great diversity of our country. All provinces are represented. Candidates bring diverse backgrounds and professions, from teacher to banker, from police officer to entrepreneur. Some candidates have proven themselves in local politics, others in the trade union or the environmental movement. The candidate committee, led by Corinne Ellemeet and Paul Depla, has compiled a list to be proud of.

Frans Timmermans on the draft list: “With this list, we represent the social majority of the Netherlands. From all provinces and regions, all ages, and with various backgrounds from midwifery to economists, we have compiled a beautiful list. What connects us all is that we believe in solidarity. Because only with solidarity can our beautiful country move forward again.”
