On Monday, August 18, GroenLinks-PvdA will present the draft election program for the House of Representatives elections. But you can already find a glimpse of the first chapter. In More Houses to Live In, we outline our main proposals to make affordable housing possible for everyone.

Together We Move Forward

With GroenLinks-PvdA, public housing will be a top priority. We are coming up with the largest investment program in decades. New Style Housing Corporations will build for the social majority in the Netherlands: affordable homes to be proud of. We will immediately introduce a Housing Construction Acceleration Act to remove obstacles. We will make sharp choices with our scarce land by purchasing land for housing instead of derelict industrial areas and intensive livestock farming. A construction incentive will also be introduced so that landowners will build faster. And we will tackle land and real estate speculation, because houses are for living in, not for making profit. Our goal is clear: an affordable home for everyone in the Netherlands. We have done it before. If we put our shoulders to the wheel, we can do it again.
