This was the chance. The chance for right-wing policy with a right-wing majority.
That Wilders has now squandered this unique opportunity is incomprehensible and irresponsible. But we cannot dwell on that. The Netherlands deserves leaders who take responsibility and deliver, especially when it gets tough.
There is a war raging on our continent, an economic crisis is looming, and many people are worried about whether they can still pay their bills. It is irresponsible to take no steps until the next elections.
