Many people and companies want to become more sustainable. At the same time, they are concerned about rising energy costs. We take those concerns seriously. To achieve our goal, we will need a mix of energy. Nuclear energy must be part of that mix because we cannot manage with just solar and wind.
It is good that Minister Hermans is now taking concrete steps to make this happen after years of resistance to nuclear energy. Not by setting deadlines in the future without knowing how to get there, but by planning realistically and taking the steps that will lead us there. This is not always easy, as we see in countries around us. But our minister is very concrete in the elaboration. Steps are being taken in both technology and financing. And the locations are becoming clearer. We are making a clear choice for Zeeland. On all this, she has sent the House an update today.
We are working hard on the energy of the future so that we will be less dependent on unfree countries in terms of energy. With more clean, affordable, and reliable energy!
