The province of Drenthe supports the continuation of Drenthe Sport Sustainable with a subsidy of 180,000 euros to SportDrenthe. This continuation shifts the focus to the sustainability of municipal sports facilities, in close collaboration with Drenthe municipalities and partners.
Previously, more than 200 sports clubs were assisted with energy-saving measures and making their facilities future-proof with the provinces support.
The emphasis was primarily on privatized outdoor sports locations. Now the focus is on municipal facilities, such as gymnasiums and sports halls. “We are taking an important next step,” said deputy Henk Jumelet. “Together with municipalities and associations, we make a significant contribution to the energy transition in Drenthe.”
