Are you a dairy farmer in Drenthe and want to take steps towards a more sustainable business? From August 12, 2025, you can apply for the Sustainable Farming Drenthe – Dairy Farming 2025–2026 subsidy. With this subsidy, you can receive up to € 13,000 for achievements in sustainability.
Who is the subsidy for?
The subsidy is intended for dairy farmers in the province of Drenthe who want to work on themes such as soil quality, climate, water, and biodiversity. You are eligible if you are based in Drenthe, have a current KringloopWijzer, and meet the SBI definition of a dairy farmer.
What can you apply for the subsidy?
You receive a subsidy based on the scores achieved on Critical Performance Indicators (KPIs), including:
- reduction of nitrogen and phosphate surpluses;
- less emission of ammonia and greenhouse gases;
- cleaner use of plant protection products;
- more grazing and biodiversity;
- more efficient use of protein from your own land.
The better you score, the higher the subsidy. The data is collected via the KringloopWijzer and SCAN-ICT, among others.

How much subsidy can you receive?
For this opening, a total of € 7.8 million is available:
- Maximum € 6,500 per dairy farmer per year (for 2025 and 2026), maximum € 13,000 per dairy farmer in total;
Submit your application on time
You can apply for the subsidy from August 12 to October 31, 2025. Make sure your application is complete. After submitting your application, we will process it within 8 weeks. After that, Wageningen Environmental Research (WUR) will take over your application.
