Starting Monday, August 11, 2025, the Hoofdweg (N373) will be closed to through motorized traffic. All traffic will be redirected via the other connection; signs will indicate the route. The closure is necessary for a safe setup of the construction site during the works on the Norger Bridge.
Traffic Lights Installed but Not Yet Operational
At the junction of the N371 and N373, traffic lights have been installed to allow traffic to flow safely and smoothly during the works and afterwards. The traffic lights are currently not operational. The supplier expects them to be operational by early October.
Until then, the traffic situation will be closely monitored. If necessary, traffic controllers will be deployed to guide traffic safely. Once the traffic lights are operational, the bike path and the crossing at this location will be removed.
Note: Severe Traffic Disruption from November 2025
From November 2025, the demolition of the current Norger Bridge will begin, and works on the Norgervaart will start. During this period – from November 2025 to the end of May 2026 – the bridge and the N373 along the Norgervaart will be closed. Through traffic will be redirected via the surrounding provincial roads.
