The Chefs Challenge 2025 once again showcased the culinary talent and creativity present in Flevoland. Chefs from the region took on the challenge to create a dish using local products that reflects the strength of Flevoland. The competition focused on craftsmanship, innovation, and the connection from farm to table.
The Winner of Chefs Challenge 2025
Winner Aart van den Berg from Warmonderhof in Dronten excelled with a fully locally composed dish. Although he has not been a chef for long, he visibly enjoyed his participation. “I really enjoyed taking part,” he says. He did not expect to win. “I couldn’t read the jury well. I found what Silver Lelystad made very special and De Kooknomade from Dronten was also very good.” Using local ingredients has become second nature to him. “We often use products from here (Warmonderhof). In winter it is more difficult, but it worked out well.” His colleagues and students reacted enthusiastically to his participation and victory. He wants to use the prize money to develop a production kitchen, a place where students and interested parties can learn to work with local products. “I would definitely participate again,” he says looking back on the day.
Aftermovie
The aftermovie captures the atmosphere and energy of the Chefs Challenge 2025 and shows how food, craftsmanship, and Flevoland come together in an inspiring and competitive setting.
New Edition in 2026
This year we build on that success. In 2026 we will again organize the Chefs Challenge, where the strength of our regional food chain is central once more. Chefs who want to show their talent can register after the summer. More information about the theme and competition format will follow later this year. With the Chefs Challenge we strengthen pride in our Flevoland products and give space to new culinary talents. This year’s edition promises to be a highlight within the Food team.
