On October 29 and 30, the 98th Executive Committee for the North Sea Commission of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) took place in Scotland. Deputy Jan Klopman announced as vice-chairman of the CPMR that the province of Flevoland will be the host region of the annual Annual Business Meeting (ABM) of the North Sea Commission next year.
The meeting will take place on May 27, 28, and 29 in Flevoland and offers a great opportunity to connect the 40th anniversary of our province with our European cooperation. We focus on strengthening Flevolands position as an innovative and collaborative region within the Netherlands and Europe.
Background Information
The CPMR is a European network of over 150 regional authorities from 24 countries. The network advocates for balanced development of regions across Europe and ensures that the European Union takes this into account in its policies. The ABM is the general assembly of the North Sea Commission, consisting of local and regional officials. Deputy Jan Klopman is a member of this assembly.
