On Tuesday, January 20, we attended the Big Improvement Day 2026. Public and private organizations came together here to promote innovation and collaboration.
During the event, participants from various sectors exchanged knowledge and ideas. From government and business to sports, healthcare, and education. The central theme of the day focused on sustainability, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. This aligns perfectly with the ambitions of Flevoland.
High Tech in Flevoland
In Flevoland, work is done daily on future-oriented solutions such as advanced materials, sensor technology, and smart applications for energy and mobility. At the event, the story of technological progress and collaboration was shared, with a call to partners to work together, connect talent, and accelerate the growth of High Tech in Flevoland.
During Flevolands own session, attendees engaged in discussions with the driving forces behind High Tech Flevoland. The central question was: what can we mean for each other? Managing director Atie van Rhee and keynote speaker Marcel Kampman shared their vision. Afterwards, guests collaborated with students from ROC Amsterdam in a workshop around the theme ‘how do we develop the high-tech polder together?’. This resulted in an energetic session where ideas were immediately transformed into concrete concepts. A great start to a year full of collaboration.
