On Friday, January 16, Flevoland was present at the opening day of the 100th edition of the International Grüne Woche in Berlin. This annual event is the international networking platform for agriculture, nature, and food. Deputies Jan Klopman and Harold Hofstra attended to position Flevoland in national and European networks, exchange knowledge, and strengthen collaborations.
At Grüne Woche, government officials, members of parliament, provincial administrators, and policymakers meet, together with representatives from the agro-food sector. At the Dutch square, Flevoland highlighted three innovative regional products:
- Dry Aged Beet from Beetz Bio Brass (Zeewolde)
- Sweet potato (batata) from Polderjongens (Espel)
- Edamame/Mukimame (soybean) from Dutch Soy together with several Flevoland growers
These products show how Flevoland continues to innovate. With attention to taste, sustainability, and future-proof agriculture. And that fits Flevoland: a province celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Once pioneers on new land, today pioneers in agricultural innovation.
