Four business parks in Flevoland were selected for the national program Work Landscapes of the Future. Noordersluis, Nagelerweg, Poort van Dronten/Business Zone Delta, and Lelystad Airport Businesspark/Larserpoort are among the first sites in the Netherlands being prepared as inspiring workplaces for the future.
Nagelerweg as Ambassador
The Nagelerweg business park has now been designated as an ambassador site: a model location where innovative solutions are tested and applied. This business park will now participate in the national program. Together with these four business parks and the national program, we are working on future-proof business parks that are not only economically strong but also contribute to a healthy living environment, increased biodiversity, and an attractive working climate.
A Wonderful Place to Do Business
“It is a great crown on good cooperation. At Nagelerweg in Emmeloord, we believe that economic growth and sustainability go perfectly together. A wonderful place to do business,” says Twan Hakvoort, chairman of the entrepreneurs association Companies for Noordoostpolder (BVN). The other three business parks participate as partner sites. Together they show how Flevoland works towards an economy where entrepreneurship and a healthy living environment go hand in hand.
“We are proud that these business parks in our province are taking the lead in making their work environments future-proof,” says Deputy Toon van Dijk. “That is a smart investment that pays off in many ways: we create attractive and healthy workplaces, strengthen biodiversity, and ensure the sites are better prepared for tomorrows challenges. That is a win for entrepreneurs, employees, and the entire region.”
About Work Landscapes of the Future
The national program aims for at least a thousand business parks in the Netherlands to actively work on sustainability by 2032. By participating in Work Landscapes of the Future, the province underlines its ambition to contribute to this transition.
There are about one hundred business parks in Flevoland. They house over 7,700 companies that together provide 37% of all jobs in the province. Many business parks suffer from hardening, water nuisance, and heat. With the national program Work Landscapes of the Future, we work together with entrepreneurs, municipalities, and other partners on healthy, green, and future-proof workplaces.
