The Markerwaarddijk will be closed on Friday, January 23, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Rijkswaterstaat will inspect the bridges of the Houtribsluizen near Lelystad and the Krabbersgatsluizen near Enkhuizen. Traffic will not be able to use the road (N307) that night.
Alternative Route
The closure is announced on digital information boards. Detours are possible via Amsterdam or via the Afsluitdijk. Rijkswaterstaat advises road users to check current traffic information before departure.
About the Work
Rijkswaterstaat inspects the bridges and locks in the Markerwaarddijk. For this, drilling and inspections are carried out. The road is temporarily closed in both directions and the drill holes are sealed the same night.
The bridges at the Houtribsluizen are inspected from the water. The locks alternately close for shipping. During the closure, the drainage culverts and gutters under the naviduct are also cleaned. This research is part of the broader renewal program of Rijkswaterstaat.
