The year 2025 is almost over and the holidays and the new year 2026 are just around the corner. On behalf of the Province of Flevoland, Kings Commissioner Arjen Gerritsen wishes everyone happy holidays and a good turn of the year.

Together forward in a changing world
The past year brought quite a bit of movement in the world, in the Netherlands and of course also in politics. A lot is happening. Changes in the climate, fluctuating economy and our society in motion. Concerns about the future of democracy, with us and in Europe. We all notice it.
Especially in this time of change, Christmas is a moment to reflect on what connects us. We find each other in small acts of kindness, in the trust that we are stronger together and in the conviction that everyone may participate. In times that cause worries about the future of ourselves and our children, that feeling of solidarity is indispensable. And exactly what we need to continue building a resilient future for all of us.
