Orange the World is a global campaign against violence towards women and girls. On Tuesday, November 25, the provincial house lit up orange to raise awareness for this campaign, which runs until December 10 (International Human Rights Day).
The Role of Municipalities
The theme for 2025 is Municipalities Take Action: Safe, Everywhere and Always. The organization aims to raise awareness that violence can occur in various places, such as on the street, while going out, at work, on public transport, or anywhere men and women gather. This year emphasizes the role of municipalities, partly due to the municipal elections in March 2026 and their important responsibility for local safety.
In various locations in Flevoland, buildings are lit orange, including the Provincial House. There are also theater performances and lectures throughout the province. More information can be found on the Orange the World website.
