The Province of Flevoland has started cutting down about one hundred trees along the Slingerweg (Zeewolde). These works are now nearly completed. The tree roots had pushed up the concrete of the cycle path, causing cracks that could be dangerous for cyclists.
New Planting
About a year after the cutting, in the 2026/2027 season, the province will plant new trees. The new trees will be planted further away from the cycle path to prevent new damage. This ensures that the character of the area is preserved and contributes to a sustainable, safe living environment.
Repair of the Cycle Path
In the spring of 2026, the broken concrete slabs of the cycle path will be replaced. This will allow cyclists and other road users to safely and easily use the Slingerweg again.
