The WIJ FLEVOLAND letters, recently unveiled in a festive ceremony but shortly after vandalized and removed, will soon continue their journey through the province.
Cleaning and restoration
During the New Years reception on January 26, the letters were unveiled in a festive manner. On the night of January 30 to February 1, the letters were moved and vandalized. Unfortunately, the letters had to be removed afterwards. Following the damage caused to the letters, a report was filed. In the coming weeks, the letters will be cleaned and restored.
Looking ahead
Although the event caused much indignation and disappointment, we look ahead. Kings Commissioner Arjen Gerritsen: “At the beginning of March, the restored letters will go on tour again, this time to Zeewolde. There we continue this special WIJ FLEVOLAND campaign: showing together what we are proud of.”
Sense of community
The life-sized WIJ FLEVOLAND letters are part of a traveling installation that tours all over Flevoland and invites residents to share what ‘we’ means to them. They represent the sense of community that has made Flevoland great: the residents, entrepreneurs, organizations and partners who live, work, learn, create and innovate here together.
