Flevoland aims to build nearly 40,000 new homes by 2030 but faces obstacles. A national inventory, based on twelve provincial reports, maps these bottlenecks. More importantly, it helps accelerate cooperation and implementation of housing deals. Today, we present our provincial report: the Conditions for Housing Construction in Flevoland report.
Background
Building 40,000 homes in our province is challenging because conditions are not in order everywhere. Think of nitrogen space, grid capacity, and mobility. To improve this, the IPO started a national inventory at the beginning of 2025. The goal was to discuss bottlenecks, share knowledge, and find solutions together. In February, we coordinated the approach regarding conditions with other provinces. In the summer, all conditions were further discussed. The results are included in the Conditions for Housing Construction Flevoland report.
