Supporting young farmers
We want a future for agriculture. Farmers and gardeners ensure that we have healthy food on our plates every day. Therefore, it must remain attractive to work in this sector. We see that the number of agricultural businesses has been decreasing for some time. That is why we want to help young farmers start or continue a business.
Producing more sustainably
Additionally, we will help farmers to produce more sustainably. In recent years, much has already been done in this area. We encourage innovations to reduce emissions, use fewer pesticides (substances that protect plants from diseases, insects, and weeds), and manage animals, soil, and water better.
Craftsmanship comes first
The craftsmanship of the farmer is paramount. For example, in reducing nitrogen emissions. Where we previously prescribed which measures a farmer had to take, we will agree on goals in the future.
