Notable Points
The level of broad prosperity in our province is generally stable. The results of the Monitor Broad Prosperity show this. However, there are a few points of concern. Residents are worried about how people interact with each other, about the division in society, about the future of the Netherlands and that of our youth. There is financial uncertainty and concerns about physical and mental health. It also appears that residents from the Arnhem-Nijmegen region are the least satisfied.
What is Broad Prosperity?
Broad prosperity is about the overall well-being of people and how they experience the quality of their lives. This is not only about gross domestic product - the total value of everything produced and earned in a country in a year - and economic growth. Broad prosperity also encompasses health, environment, housing, living conditions, how we interact with each other, and (in)security.
The Monitor Broad Prosperity Gelderland 2025 illustrates the broad prosperity of Gelderland.

Where do the figures come from?
In the monitor, we compare Gelderland with other provinces, see important trends, and compare, if possible, the Gelderland COROP regions (Achterhoek, Arnhem-Nijmegen, Veluwe, and Southwest Gelderland). The monitor includes figures from all 51 Gelderland municipalities. The basis for the monitor is the most recent figures from the Regional Monitor Broad Prosperity of the CBS. In November 2024, a comprehensive survey was sent to residents in Gelderland. The results of this survey provide more context to the CBS figures.
