Information and a Listening Ear

Whether it is about recognizing a wolf, what to do when encountering a wolf, wolf behavior, insight into wolf habitats, or fear of going into nature: the LIW shares information about wolves and offers a listening ear for everyone with questions or concerns. The available information is based on recognized sources, scientific knowledge, and current monitoring from the national Wolf Reporting Point of BIJ12.

Not Always Clear

Until now, it was not always clear where to go with questions and concerns. The new information point is the place to go for information. Is there an incident or threatening situation? Then contact the police.

Background

The LIW was established on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LVVN) and the joint provinces, united in the Interprovincial Consultation (IPO). The implementation is carried out by BIJ12.

Provincial leaders and the Ministry of LVVN work closely together within the National Approach to Wolves (LAW). Within their own roles and powers, LVVN and provinces fulfill 14 activities within the LAW. The National Information Point for Wolves is one of the activities and aims to improve public information provision and education.
