In early February of this year, the Provincial Executive established the framework note for the renewal of the environmental vision. With this document, they asked PS to provide direction for the vision. PS have now established the framework note. This is an important step. The discussion in PS has led to several substantive changes in the framework note.

What is New?

The framework note has been adjusted in several areas. It is clear that PS place great value on clearly naming social values. Themes such as broad prosperity and economy received much attention in the discussions and are now more clearly integrated into the note. The changes in the text are marked, and the document also explains which changes we will incorporate into the further elaboration of the vision. Next Phase: Elaborating the Vision

Now that the direction is clear, we will continue with the elaboration of the vision. What do we want to achieve in the Gelderland society in the long term? And how do we follow and measure those developments so that PS can adjust the provinces efforts where necessary? Around or after the summer, we expect the first draft of the renewed environmental vision.

Your Opinion Matters - Also in the Next Phase

The renewal of the environmental vision is a joint effort. In the first participation round (September – November 2024), we gathered ideas broadly from residents, organizations, and other stakeholders. The outcomes are included in the participation report and have been processed into the framework note. After the summer, a second participation round will follow. Then we will test the concept: is it understandable what we write? What do you think of the content and the choices made? We will soon share more about how you can participate.
