Close to Home Conversation

There are various opportunities to engage with provincial politics. But often residents have to come to the House of the Province in Arnhem. With ‘Provincial Council visits the regions’ you can have a conversation with council members close to home. Previously, council members were in Doetinchem, Harderwijk, and Zutphen. The next stop is Geldermalsen.

‘Speed-dating’ with provincial and local politicians

Residents engage in one-on-one conversations with politicians. As a province, we collaborate closely with municipalities. Therefore, you can talk with our council members and municipal council members of West Betuwe. You decide the topic yourself. Each participant brings their own opinions, concerns, or ideas. The only condition is that we have a role in the discussion topic.

Low-threshold Contact

The discussion evening is a valuable and accessible way to get in touch with representatives. “I left the room with more confidence in politics. In the conversations, I noticed that the politicians are truly there for me,” says a participant from the Doetinchem edition. A resident from Harderwijk says: “What a lively and accessible evening. Nice to be able to share my story.”

There Are More Ways

Residents of Gelderland like to think along with the province. But how do you make your ideas, opinions, or concerns known? There are many more ways to participate in the democratic process. We warmly invite you to join as well, because together we make Gelderland better.
