More Homes Through Smart Use of Existing Buildings

We are working hard to reduce the housing shortage. Building new homes alone is not enough. Therefore, we also encourage better use of existing buildings. Think of extending, adding floors, or splitting homes. With the new subsidy scheme, we help homeowners, housing corporations, and municipalities create more affordable homes.

 

2 Types of Subsidies

The subsidy scheme consists of 2 parts:

Process Subsidy

This is a subsidy with a contribution of up to €10,000 for a feasibility study. This study examines whether it is technically, financially, and legally possible to create at least 6 affordable homes by extending, adding floors, or splitting.

Realization Subsidy

This is a subsidy with a contribution of up to €8,000 per additional affordable home. This subsidy is intended for homes added by splitting or extending.
