From March 11, 2026, farmers in Gelderland can apply for subsidies to make their businesses more sustainable. They receive a 40% subsidy for new installations and machines.

The investments contribute to environmental and climate goals or animal welfare. Later, a separate subsidy will be offered for young farmers (under 40 years old). 

Productive investments 

The subsidy scheme ‘Productive investments green-blue and animal welfare’ is part of the European Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The aim of the subsidy is the good use of natural resources and the preservation of biodiversity (the number of plant and animal species living in an area). Farmers and farmer cooperatives can apply for this subsidy. The subsidy reimburses 40% of the purchase costs.  

The subsidy amount is at least €20,000 and at most €175,000. The total subsidy budget is €9.6 million. This amount meets the expected high demand. You can apply for subsidies based on an investment list. Applications can be submitted from March 11, 2026, to April 30, 2026.

If you are a farmer and interested in this CAP scheme, you can attend one of the 3 information meetings. On March 3 in Ulft, March 10 in Opheusden, and March 17 in Oldebroek. We will tell you more about the subsidy then. We also answer questions about the withdrawal of the previous edition of this scheme and you can ask your questions about permit procedures. Afterwards, you will know for which investments you can apply for subsidies and how the application process works.

Apply for subsidy 

Applications for this and other provincial CAP subsidies 2023-2027 are handled by the implementing organization Stimulus. On the website of Stimulus you will find the conditions.
